Despite already doing a few projects abroad, Lovi Poe admitted that she still gets “shy” whenever people would call her a Hollywood actress, saying that there’s little difference for her as an actress whether doing films for an international audience or locally.

“I think I consider myself just an actress in general… It’s like, for me, I’m an actress and ‘yun nahihiya ako, but that’s how I see myself, really, and I could be acting anywhere; I’m always here,” she told Boy Abunda after she was asked why she gets uncomfortable whenever she gets referred to as a Holywood actress.

Poe, nonetheless, noted the difference between Hollywood and local productions, explaining that the former kind of leans into “something that’s a bit more subtle.”

“Siyempre they’re gonna tell you to tweak if they wanna go higher or lower pero more on subtle conversational kasi. Here, iba naman ‘yung atin na nakasanayan natin dito,” stated the actress.

Poe previously starred in “The Chelsea Cowboy,” a biopic based on the life of actor, gangster, and a lothario named John Bindon, alongside Alex Pettyfer, Poppy Delevingne, and Charlie Creed-Miles.

Just recently, Poe was cast in an untitled project from the director of “Prison Break” and Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” opposite Canadian actor Adam Beach.

The untitled film is due to film in Dallas, Texas, later this year, and per Deadline, the plot is based on the true story of Paul Fullerton, a decorated Native American who had a run-in with the law.

Meanwhile, Poe is currently in the Philippines, promoting her upcoming “Guilty Pleasure” with actors JM De Guzman and Jameson Blake.
