Enrique Gil and Jane De Leon faced terrifying encounters in the teaser trailer for “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital,” the Philippine adaptation of the South Korean box office hit “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum.”
Reality MM Studios recently released the first official teaser for “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital,” an entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), offering a chilling glimpse into the group of ghost hunters trapped in a sinister hospital.
Article continues after this advertisementThe 1-minute, 16-second teaser began with a montage of supernatural occurrences inside the haunted Xinglin Hospital, an abandoned building located in Taiwan’s West Central District.

They found exactly what they were looking for,” read the text on the trailer.
The remaining clips showed the group exploring and running the haunted hospital. One by one, they face their turn with death. De Leon was captured covered with blood while Gil was seen horrified, screaming on top of his lungs, “Stop it.”

Aside from Gil and De Leon, the film also features Alexa Miro, Rob Gomez, beauty queen MJ Lastimosa, real-life tarot reader Raf Pineda, and content creator Ryan “Zarckaroo” Azurin.

Dubbed as the Philippines’ very first meta-found-footage horror film, “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital” is aiming to be a success, as “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum” was a commercial hit in South Korea, attracting more than 2.6 million viewers and $21 million in box office takings, becoming the second highest grossing Korean horror film in 2018.

“Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital” will premiere in local cinemas on Dec. 25 alongside other MMFF entries.
